Program 5 Monitor Flamethrower "Zippo" Tutorial
Step 8: Brown Water Diorama Display
Super Tip= Super Detail=
One of my favorite methods for making muddy brown water is to sculpt it using Paper Mache. I prefer this method because it’s quick, easy, and the results look fantastic! The first step is to scribe the base with a knife so the Paper Mache has a rough surface to stick too. Next spread the Paper Mache around the base and allow it to become semi-dry.
Once the Paper Mache was semi-dry I used a small tool to form choppy waves.

Once all the waves were sculpted I allowed the Paper Mache to dry completely. Once dry I painted the water with Testors Light Earth acrylic paint.

When the paint dried I dry brushed the waves with Titanium White Oil Paint. The next day I poured "Woodland Scenes" "Realistic Water" over the entire base and presto, I had Mekong Delta muddy brown water for the Zippo!
