Step 7: Stern Details

Final details on the stern we accomplished by adding the kit supplied deck locker.

I also assembled two life ring holders from photo etched brass parts.

The life rings were sometimes positioned on the rear of the deckhouse bar armor as shown here.

Assembly of the hydraulic mine-sweeping winch included the following resin parts.

Assemble as shown.

Assembly of the winch continued.

Glue the winch on the stern and add one piece of styrene rod to the top of the unit as show.

The anchor was positioned here.

I added scale chain to the mine-sweep unit and cut small styrene rod bars as shown.

The bars were glued onto the chain at various angles. These bars would slice through the cables of command detonated mines, which the Viet Cong would run along the river bottoms.
